I might have the best summer vacation ever. Because I did something different and also meaningful. I took the voluntary role in the in-depth tour. I was there to translate, to help international delegates and to make them have fun. Actually, this was a program launched by AIESEC IC.(With further info of AIESEC IC.

Carrying a backpack and then climbing up to the truck, I started my journey in Mayuan which later becomes my second home. At he first time, I was astonished by their lifestyle. Without too many technology products, they live in a simple and smart way. In order to live, they smartly apply their wisdom to every single thing.

The wind blew on my face, the sun greeted me with a warm sunlight, everything was so pure and nature, I knew I was home again. Along with 14 delegates from 12 different countries, we headed to Mayuan. And this was my second time there. My mission was making Taiwan as a second home to them. We spent two days together. Yes, only two days. But we did much more than you can imagine.

We cut bamboos, shaped them into bamboo lunch boxes, made the traditional necklace, planted corns, admired the Bunun paiting calander, visited the elementary school which built by Japanese, shot arrows, climbed all over stones to see the waterfall. At the night time, we sang, we danced, we barbecued, and we went hunting. I would always remember that hunting night. When everything was so quiet, we could easily hear others' breath. We followed the hunters who were experienced and strong, we went through the wild path which seemed nobody had ever walked by, and we paid full attention to see if there was any animal around us. When feeling exhausted, we just sat on the grass, took a deep breath, and looked up the starry sky. Without light pollution, the sky was so clear and thousands of million stars shined together. After hunting, we sat in a circle. Some drank mi-jiu, some sang pop songs from their countries, and some others just slept on others' shoulders. At that moment, I felt we were so closed just like a big family. Some delegates told us that TAIWAN TOUCHED THEIR HEARTS! And this can best illustrated how much they enjoyed this tour.

This in-depth tour was one of a kind. A-da, a member from OBL, said this was not something about trip but life. To experience the Bunun people's life. It's my honor to join the tour, to admire Taiwan in a different way, to see the the wisdom of Bunun, and to help Taiwan reach out and open its doors to the world. Finally, I want to thanks all of you for giving such a wonderful memory.
